What this site is
taupe is a record of building, using, and running things. Most of it comes out of a one-person business in Japan: web development, AI agent operations, automation, small products, and the workspace around that work.
The English section is not a translation of everything. It holds the articles that are worth reading outside Japan, mainly the ones about running Codex and other AI agents in production, and the open-source tools that came out of that work.
How the articles are written
Articles are built around things I actually ran. Where a measurement is mine, the article says when it was taken and on what. Where a figure comes from vendor documentation or third-party research, it is attributed rather than presented as my own result.
Official documentation and my own observations are kept separate. If a vendor says a feature behaves a certain way and my machine behaved differently, both are stated. Technical details change quickly, so each article carries the date and the environment it was verified against rather than pretending to be timeless.
What you will not find
No benchmarks I did not run presented as if I had. Where an article mentions a product I have not used myself, it says so, and product links may be affiliate links.
Some articles cover tools that are no longer current, including products of mine that have been discontinued. Those stay online as records of the time, not as instructions for today.
